Our commitment to reducing plastic waste
The brush is made from 95% wheat straw with 5% PP resin to hold the intrigrity and longevity of the brush, here’s why we choose to use such materials
We are committed to reducing our use of plastic, that includes in all of the products we make.
However, there are certain things that cannot be avoided and are crucial to the success of a project, to succeed. Therefore a form of plastic is used in the application of holding the wheat straw together structurally, therefore approximately 5% of the total brush is made of PP (polypropylene), which is a type of thermoplastic polymer resin.
The good news about polypropylene
- It is recyclable
- It is considered food safe
- Is considered one of the safest plastics currently available for food containers
- Is BPA free
Why Wheat Straw
Wheat straw is leftover stalk from the harvesting of grains. It is sustainable, renewable, and biodegradable alternative to traditional plastics. Making wheat straw into usable material though the process of washing it and making it into a pulp. By using this mixture, you are using a waste product that would otherwise be thrown away.
This in turn reduces the amount of virgin materials needed in the future.
